MUS basketball camps will be led by coaches and players from Memphis University School. An MUS athletics trainer will be assigned to each camp to provide for campers’ medical needs. All basketball camps will be directed by MUS head coach David Willson, who recently completed his fifth year at MUS after returning to the school from a 15 year college coaching career. Willson was a finalist for Mr. Basketball during his senior year at MUS (1999) and later played for SMU and Hampden-Sydney. At Hampden-Sydney, he served as team captain for a team that competed in the 2003 NCAA division III Final Four. He went on to coach at NCAA division I William & Mary, Elon, and Furman before serving as head coach at NCAA division III Emory & Henry in Virginia. He led the Emory & Henry program to its first-ever conference championship and to their first appearance in the NCAA tournament in 30 years. Willson has extensive experience directing various types of basketball camps for all different age groups and developmental stages.
